More About DawnFire Realms - Somnium: Minecraft Server in Canada
DawnFire Realms (DFR) is a Minecraft server based in Canada that focuses on serious and mature roleplay survival set in a dark fantasy environment, drawing heavily from the lore of the game Fall from Heaven II. The server features four primary races and utilizes MCMMO alongside a Heroes system, enabling players to choose from numerous tier6 combinations for combat classes and professions. To support a self-sufficient settlement, players need to have at least three characters with tier8 professions, specifically Enchanter, Engineer, and Forgemaster. The server is equipped with dedicated plugins to enhance gameplay, such as Towny and a valuable economy, while also featuring a trusted rank system that rewards dedicated players with various perks as they progress through play, voting, and donations.
The Somnium world was launched in alpha on March 10, and it transitioned to beta on June 6, culminating with the opening of a new expansive 16k x 16k vanilla seeded map on September 21. This world allows players to experience the server’s extensive plugin set while interacting with a vibrant community of moderators and administrators. Players begin their adventure in Astarte, a spawn town within Somnium. In addition, DFR is developing a larger 32k x 32k custom-designed map for the mortal world, Vesperus, which will be whitelisted and require character biographies for access. While Somnium serves as a non-whitelisted area for general exploration and roleplay practice, it has gained a solid role-playing community with a growing staff and plugin functionality, allowing players to seamlessly transition into the new world without losing their progress.
