SMPEarth, often referred to as SMPE, was initially a private Minecraft server that featured a uniquely generated map of Earth at a 1:3000 scale. Launched in November 2019, it catered exclusively to a select group of popular Minecraft content creators and streamers, including well-known figures like Technoblade, TommyInnit, CaptainSparklez, and Ph1LzA. Players engaged in a survival multiplayer experience, where they could form factions, build alliances, and declare hostilities against each other, adding layers of strategy and cooperation to the game.
Since the original creators' server concluded in April 2020, SMPEarth has made a transition to become a publicly accessible server for Java Edition players. Currently, the community has grown to over 7,000 members, offering a diverse range of experiences across three main servers: casual towny, siege towny, and utopia. The overarching ambition of SMPE is to establish itself as the most sophisticated Earth server within Minecraft, providing players the opportunity to explore, interact, and thrive in a virtual representation of the planet.
