The Næther is an exciting new Minecraft server that operates on version 1.14.4 of the game through the Java Edition. After weeks dedicated to setting up permissions and spawn points, the team behind the server has successfully launched it, allowing it to be listed on PlanetMinecraft among other platforms for player voting. As of November 4, 2019, the server is in a Closed Alpha phase, and access is limited to whitelisted players. Those interested in joining the whitelist can do so by connecting to the official Discord server, while others may choose to wait for a public release anticipated for late December.
The timeline for upcoming releases is structured to ensure thorough testing and refinement. The Closed Alpha testing period is planned from November 8 to November 21, 2019, followed by a one-week Closed Beta from December 1 to December 7, 2019. This sequence is designed to identify and address any bugs or gather player feedback before the Open Beta phase, scheduled from December 15 to December 28, 2019. Subsequently, the team will utilize a few days for last-minute adjustments leading up to the anticipated public launch on January 1, 2020. In addition to the current Survival (SMP) mode, there are plans to add several features including Skyblock, Creative, Factions, and various minigames before the public release is finalized.
